Adolescence on Netflix - a warning for parents!

If anyone’s not seen Adolescence on Netflix, do yourself a favour and go watch it, especially if your kid(s) are at the age where they’re using social media. If they’re old enough, watch with them.
It’s about a 14yo boy who’s accused of killing a classmate, but covers a lot of social media usage (and how context can be hidden from adults), bullying, toxic masculinity, loneliness etc; and is a worthwhile (but very uncomfortable in places) watch for anyone regardless.
Don’t think this needs any particular trigger warnings, but the content and situations can make for a difficult watch.
Screenshot is what someone at work posted about it, if you needed any more convincing.
I feel very strongly about this as a parenting insight/warning.

adolescence

Witnessing first hand how the immature early teens brain did not handle social media, I’d encourage anyone to seek helpful information and guidance. My wife and I failed dismally at managing this 10 years ago. ADHD, ODD and gaming addiction makes this so much more important to get under control.
